The idea for this fanfic just came to mind while I was working on another story. I just had to create it before the idea disappeared. This oneshot takes place after the Sinnoh adventures and Ash went back to Hoenn by himself. Feel free to review if you want to. And of course I do not own Pokemon or any related characters.

A gentle breeze began to blow through the black hair of a tall trainer. The young man closed his eyes and sighed. Its almost sundown, where could she be?The trainer thought to himself as watched the sun sink down the sky and the beautiful view of Petalburg City below. The young man's name was Ash, and he was waiting for the love of his life, a beautiful brown-haired blue-eyed girl by the name of May.

"What's taking Pikachu so long? Did he get lost?" Ash said aloud to no-one. His best friend Pikachu had left several hours ago to deliver a message that Ash wrote.

Several hours ago...

"Now Pikachu remember that this letter is very important. I need you to get it to May as fast as you can. You do remember the way to her house right?" Ash asked Pikachu.

"Pika!" is what the mouse answered and saluted.

"Thanks buddy." Ash held out the letter and Pikachu gently bit down on it. When the trainer let go his trustworthy little mouse ran off towards the town where his love lived. The little yellow mouse could move fairly fast and made it into town in just a few minutes. Even though the streets were bustling with people, no one seemed to notice the Pikachu running through the streets with a little in its mouth. Pikachu did remember where May's house, but the front door was shut and so were the windows.

Pikachu started to look around for a way in and saw a tree branch that led to an upstairs window. He ran over and climbed up the trunk, carefully climbed out on the branch and jumped through the window. Luckily the window led into May's bedroom,and was just above her bed.

"Pi." the little mouse said with a sigh. He placed the letter on her pillow then sat around to wait. After a little bit Pikachu dozed off. He awoke to shrieking and saw May screaming there.

"How did that wild Pikachu get into my room?!" May yelled out.

"Pi pi pi." Pikachu said while shaking his head. He then pointed to the letter on her pillow.

"What's this?" she asked as she picked it up and started to read it. Her expression changed from curiousity to shock in an instant. "Pikachu take me to him." is what she said and the mouse led her out of the house and to the hill where Ash was waiting.

Present time...

Even though Pikachu made it to May's house in about ten minutes, she didn't come home for several hours. It was very late in the afternoon when May and Pikachu left.

(Deep sigh) "Guess May doesn't return my feelings for her after all." Ash said glumly. Then...

"ASH!"

Ash looked down the hill and saw his Pikachu coming back with May following. "ASH!" she yelled again as she reached the top and lept into his arms almost knocking him over. May began to cry in his arms and said "Ash, I thought I was never going to see you again!" Ash pulled her away and brushed her tears away with his thumb.

"May there's something very important that I need to tell you." he started to look deep into her sapphire eyes and said "May, I love you."

May looked back into his brown eyes and said "I love you too Ash." The two lovers moved close and shared their first kiss. It became all the more special when May wrapped her arms around Ash's neck, and he wrapped his around her waist.

Pikachu watched this silently from a small rock, and sighed. I'm never going to forget this moment the little mouse thought as he watched the two lovers kiss, illuminated beautifully from behind by the setting sun.
