A/N: I was going through my drafts folder and found the original beginning to "Learning Experiences." I decided to continue it in a different direction inspired by a conversation I was privy to about skateboards. As you may have guessed it's in a similar vein to "Even Angels Fall," "Learning Experiences" and "Come Ride With Me," but you don't need to have read those. Hope you enjoy :)

Hell On Wheels

"Considering you wear stilettos I find it quite impressive that you can be so graceless," Eric commented, gliding over to Pam.

"Stilettos don't have wheels," Pam grumbled from where she sat on the pavement, having lost her balance on her skateboard.

"Neither did skis," Eric countered.

"I hate you."

"Sure you do," Eric smirked as he helped her to her feet.

"I don't know why you persist in this torture," she added, glaring down at her hot pink board.

"It's not torture, it's a pleasant pastime."

"For you, maybe."

"Are you implying that you take no pleasure in my company?" he asked, "That's not what you said last night," he added innocently, earning a smack on the arm from Pam.

"I just didn't want to deflate your ego," she told him with as much hauteur she could muster as she tentatively placed a foot on her skateboard.

Eric grinned, "Of course."

"I fail to see the attraction myself," Pam continued absently, eyeing the board distastefully as she carefully rolled it back and forth with one foot.

"I have been told it's my winning personality," Eric told her, deliberately misunderstanding her comment and flashing a devilish grin.

"I am no longer shocked by the low calibre of the women you bed," Pam replied sweetly.

Eric raised an eyebrow, "Perhaps I don't want to make you feel threatened."

"Perhaps no one else will have you," she countered before heaving a mock, long suffering sigh, "which means I'll have to keep you."

"I could live with that," Eric replied, slipping an arm around her waist.

Pam gave him a sly look from under her lashes, "I thought you never wanted to be a kept man."

Eric shrugged a shoulder, "That depends on who's doing the keeping," he replied with a smirk.

Pam quirked an eyebrow, "I'll bear that in mind," she promised, stepping out of his arms just as he was about to kiss her and gliding off on her skateboard.

"Where are you going?" Eric demanded, sounding confused, frustrated and amused in equal measure.

"You said we were skateboarding until you said other-" Pam was cut off as Eric appeared in front of her.

"I think it's time to go home," he announced, lifting her into his arms easily.

"Is that so?"

"Yes, I think we should spend the rest of the evening doing something that we both enjoy," he replied.

Pam gave him an amused look, "And what would that something be?"

"I'm sure I'll think of something," he replied innocently, looking anything but.

Pam smirked, "I'm sure you will."

Eric picked up the pace and the two of them disappeared into the night, leaving two skateboards in their wake.
