The letter

Percy was exhausted, he'd spent days sleeping rough trying to find this camp, whilst fending off 2 hideous gorgons, who tried to rip him to shreds but also attempted to sell their bargain mart goods, as well as that, a certain goddess forced Percy to carry her into an unknown Roman camp. Percy was near breaking point, so he figured he may as well take advantage of the roman's facilities and have an infamous roman bath.

Percy made his way to the collection of baths, and was surprised to find it was empty, not a roman in sight. He took of all of his clothes and climbed into the hot, soapy water. Instantly, Percy felt more relaxed and energized, water seemed to have that effect on him; he was just about ready to slip into Percy world when he spotted something sticking out of the back pocket of his jeans. Interested, he grabbed the object, which turned out to be a slip of paper, on the front printed in a sophisticated font was a message - 'You're Welcome Perseus' signed with Juno's name at the bottom.

Percy unfurled the object, revealing a large paragraph of writing addressed to him. Suddenly, Percy began to shake – at the bottom of the passage of writing a delicate signature which read 'Annabeth'. Gathering his thoughts, Percy began to read.

Percy,

While you were missing I wrote this knowing you'd come back because you always come back your my saviour. The first time I laid eyes on you I knew you would always to be special to me, I knew you would be the one, I guess what I'm trying to say is for the last or 6 years I've been in love with you, I still am in love with you, your my seaweed brain, you always will be. I love you so much it hurts, you are the reason I breathe, you cheer me up when I'm down, you're so oblivious to everything it took you five years to figure out I liked you back, while I'm writing this I'm crying tears spilling out, like these words are being spilled on this paper. A day doesn't go by when I don't think about you, about your piercing eyes, or your sarcasm, even when we argue like an old married couple. I don't care what our parents say Percy I'll love you no matter what, I would do anything just to be with you! I give my heart to your Percy because I know you're the person I want to give it to and I won't regret giving it to you, I hope you feel the same just remember you are and always will be my seaweed brain, my hero, my Perseus.

Yours forever,

Annabeth.

The seconds turned into minutes, and the minutes quickly changed to hours, but Percy just carried on reading through the letter, slowly guiding his fingertips over the font savouring every last letter and word but none affected as much as the signature at the bottom, he pictured her in his head writing this letter, in ruin because Juno, Hera whatever she was called had kidnapped Percy and taken her away from her seaweed brain. Anger and sadness welled up inside Percy, for the first time during this ordeal he began to sob, the tears flowing like the water he commanded; he felt a little better but the anger and sadness was still there however a new feeling was now there – determination; he needed to find Annabeth.

Folding the letter back up, he placed it inside his jeans and attempted to relax and come up with a plan to find Annabeth. He was so deep in thought Frank had to shout twice to bring him out of his trance – "Come on man, war games" Frank stated. Percy climbed out of the water, willing himself dry and redressing. He strode out to the late afternoon sun with only one thought on his mind – 'Annabeth'.
