Not That Type of Girl
Disclaimer: I don't own any of the characters that you have seen featured in the Koei series. I do however own Niu Mei and any other characters that are otherwise not seen in the DW series.
A/N: This is a story that I hope you guys will thoroughly enjoy. I don't know why I decided to write it but since it came to my mind, I've been meaning to write it. So I shall begin...
Prologue:
Life was always easier when you could see clearly...
She sat on the edge of the fence, staring out into the sunrise. This was always her favorite part of day. Here, she felt like she could be free and do whatever she pleased. Life was always easier when you could see clearly. The farm in which she resided was possibly one of the nicest places on earth; in her eyes anyway. But then, she admitted that she could be biased.
Her eyes drifted to the house she lived in and from there, to the top floor, where her mother and father's bedroom window was. She knew that soon they would be awake, to begin the daily chores that were a necessity on a farm like theirs. She breathed a heavy sigh into the dewy morning air, closing her eyes at the same time. She had to be outside in order to clear her head. The indoors just wouldn't do; she just was not that type of girl.
She heard the distant wicker of her mare, Lei Jia, from the horse barn to the right of her. That was her cue. Once the horses were up, surely every other animal would awaken soon. The horses were impatient and didn't like waiting unnecessarily long for their breakfast.
Trudging softly across the ground in an odd combination of her bed robe and her long boots, she made her way to the barn to feed the noisy equines.
Wow, this chapter was over so soon! Well, I suppose it isn't really a proper chapter, but more like a taster of what's yet to come. I hope you will enjoy the remaining chapters because I have a lot of ideas about what to include!
