CHAPTER 1
I think it is most universally known
That a man with some money is wanting a home
And as rich as he is and yes he is rich
He must find a 'Mrs' that was once a 'Miss'.
Mrs Bennet she knew and was quite obsessed
And to her husband she went and addressed
'Mr Bennet I have news of the great sort!
We have new neighbours of which to report!"
Mr Bennet cared not of his wife's great news
Or pretended so as she had long been his muse
And he let her continue without a reply
For there was no way at all that he would deny.
'Mr Bingley has come and taken Neatherfield
And will be here in two week it has been revealed.
And I know you will agree, it is quite plain
That he must like our daughters, he isn't insane!'
'Mrs B, I have no idea what you are on
But to insist he is what our daughters may don?
They are silly you see apart from one girl
My Lizzy is lovely, our only pearl'
'Oh please Mr Bennet I have one request
Please visit Mr Bingley and be his guest.'
'My dear I think not and my mind won't change
I hope you understand a visit will not be arranged"'
And the argument ceased and continued no more
Mr Bennet left, walked straight out the door
Mrs Bennet was left but hoped they would meet
And to give his daughters this chance would be neat!
