Jackson and Greta are my original characters, but I don't own CSI.

Inspired by a scene between Catherine and Lindsey in the season one episode Crate And Burial.

And please read and review my previous story, Birfday. I really love writing Greta and Jackson stories, and hope you enjoy them as well.

And I have a new story coming up set after the season 15 finale that does include Jackson and his Uncle Nicky I hope you like.

I had to write a story for Jackson's 9th birthday, and thought it would be cool if he had a celebration including his little sister. Hope you enjoy...and pretty please review!

It had been a wonderful day. Greg still couldn't believe his son was nine years old. Jackson was an amazing person. He loved his family and friends, and absolutely adored his little sister Greta.

After a party with his friends and CSI family, Jackson came up to Greg. "Dad, can we watch a movie?"

Greg smiled. "Well..."

"Come on," Jackson said. "Just us!"

Greg had to admit it had been a while since he and Jackson watched a movie and spent some time together, just the two of them. He smiled softly. "You want some popcorn?"

Jackson smiled. "Sure!"

With Greta and Morgan in bed and Scruffy curled up on the couch, Jackson and Greg settled in to watch an old movie. Jackson wrapped an old blanket around him and Scruffy and snuggled next to his father.

Greg always loved simple moments like this. He knew it wouldn't be long until his son grew out of just wanting to just spend time with his family, so he treasured every moment.

"You like the movie, Jacks?"

"Yeah," Jackson said as he ate another piece of popcorn and laughed at the old comedy.

Greg smiled. "Did you have a good birthday?"

"Yes!" Jackson said. "Thank you for my stuff!" Greg and Morgan got him some new science books and DVDs.

"Well, I'm glad you like them." Greg smiled at his son. "Everything okay?"

Jackson smiled at his dad. "Yeah." He looked away for a moment. "Well..."

Greg gently ran a hand through Jackson's hair. "What's up?"

Jackson sighed quietly. "I'm glad you watched this with me."

"Well...I'm glad too. Is everything okay?"

"Yes!" Jackson insisted as he looked at his father. "But we haven't had a chance to watch a movie together in a while."

Greg smiled softly, realizing he was right. Between Greg and Morgan being so busy at the lab, Jackson being in school, and Greta growing up, he and Jackson hadn't hung out together lately like they used to. "You're right, Jacks. And I've missed hanging out with you."

"I've missed hanging out with you, dad. So I wanted to watch the movie. I mean, Greta and mama would probably like it. Well, Greta might fall asleep," Jackson said with a soft laugh.

"Yeah," Greg said with a soft smile.

Jackson smiled. "And I love that you and Uncle Nicky and Aunt Catrin and Papa Eckie take care of the lab. But I like when we just hang out."

Greg smiled warmly at his thoughtful, wonderful son. "I like it too, Jacks. I like this way more than you'll ever know."

"Yeah?"

"Yeah," Greg said with a warm smile.

Jackson smiled. "And this is a good movie." He and Greg smiled and laughed at the classic comedy.

"Yes, it is," Greg said with a warm smile. "But I like the company more."

Greg and Jackson stayed up for a while after the movie and talked about school, work and family. To Jackson, it was more memorable than any party. And to Greg, it was the best way to spend his son's birthday.

The End
