Rain

The rain comes pouring down as it had for the last week without stopping. Rogue sits looking out the window and wonders 'if the ground will start not excepting the water, will this place turn into the swamp lands that she had grown up in', but she hated the rain because it meant that she couldn't go out and enjoy nature. It also meant that she was stuck indoors with all the other students and she only wanted to be left alone at the moment. And not having Kurt hanging around her all the time. 'Couldn't he take the hint?'

She rolled her eyes as she smelt the smoke.

"Guten Tag!" Kurt said with a smile. 'Could anything make him sad?'

"Do you want to go outside with me, Rogue?"

"It's rainin' Kurt, Are ya crazy?"

"No, it's just that when it rained like this in Germany, my mother would send me out to play in the rain, just to get me out of the house, and this is the most normal weather that I've seen since I got here so… Do you want to go with me?"

"NO!!! It's wet!"

Before another word was uttered Kurt was gone.

He had asked almost everyone around the mansion and got similar answers all around.

Wanda looks out the window. 'Why rain?' She hated to be stuck at home with the guys. They were driving her nuts! They were rude and loud.

She would have taken Lance's jeep, but he had jumped into it when the lack of silence had become too much for his nerves to handle. With this action her escape had been taken.

Smoke?...

She was about to hex him through the wall or maybe window, but she didn't.

'What does he want?' And as if he could read her mind he answered.

"Want to walk in the rain?"

"Why aren't you asking one of your own teammates to walk with you?"

"They don't want to. Do you?"

"Sure" Wanda said raising an eyebrow at herself. 'At least it is getting out of this house.'

Walking in the rain without a rain coat or umbrella was more fun than she thought. She was actually having fun. The rain, she found, melted her pain away. Life had been hard since she had gotten her memories back. She hated her past and it had left her with many tear filled sleepless nights. But for once in a long time she felt good, she felt like herself, and not the heartless creature that she had created in order to protect herself from ever being hurt again.

She laughed and danced in the rain like a little girl and for the first time ever Kurt saw her true self and enjoyed the purity of her true heart. She felt better as she walked soaking wet into the house.

Through this random and unexpected act of kindness towards her, she felt as if the eternal weight of her past was lifted from her heart and as if she was a new person ready to take on the world ahead of her.
