PREVIEW

I ran for cover, stopping at nothing, avoiding open space. There was no plan for this, only an instinctive reaction. And no timetable for ending the panic. But I expected this rain to end before this pursuit. I still had enough blood in my body. The feeling was that I could last another eight hours on my own. Then I would tire, hunger, thirst, pass out and in some order, die and be found. Next would be a reflection on why I did choose to live my life how I always needed to and how that led to my life's end in exactly the way I feared. Propaganda would come from both sides. All of society taught us innocent people not to question the most powerful clans in our country because the threat-the promise-of violence was too great. All men would be punished for one man's mistake. So I was just another lost hope willing to die for the cause: sacrificing my family and friends in the process.
