So...I found this picture on Zerochan, and I thought about writing a fic based off it. Enjoy, and review!
Shifty and Lifty, the green haired twins. There wasn't a time when you could see the two separated, wearing that trade mark, mischievous grin, getting into trouble. The two were best friends, partners in crimes, thieves.
Shifty was the older of the twins. He was always bossing his little brother around. He was a little more immature, compared to his brother. Stealing was always one of their favourite things to do. Shifty liked it for the glory and fun. He wore a mask, and a fedora.
Lifty was the younger of the twins. He was constantly being bossed around by his older brother. However, he was more mature and laid back, compared to his older brother. When it came to stealing, Lifty especially liked the treasures. They both did. Anything that was expensive had to be obtained. Lifty only wore a mask.
The two weren't always on good terms, however. Because of the way Shifty would always boss his younger brother around, Lifty would often get upset. Lifty would get tired of it, and ignore Shifty for the whole day, or sometimes, he would even blow up and yell at him. The two would often argue about who is to blame when a problem rises, but when trouble is afoor, they would work together. They always had each others backs.
Now, anyways, even as small children, they already had quite the criminal record. They had stolen from stores, many times. It was only small things, such as candy, or toys they couldn't afford. And because they were so young, they couldn't get in trouble. That, and because of their team work. The two worked quickly, and sneakily. The two both wore the exact same thing, at the time. A mask, and a fedora.
The two could still remember a certain day in their childhood.
One day, Lifty was sitting around at home, while his older brother was out doing something. "God, what's taking him so long?" Lifty wondered aloud. Suddenly, the doors busted open, causing Lifty to jump from shock. Shifty was breathing heavily, as if he had just ran a marathon, his hair a mess, his fedora missing, and in tears.
Lifty grinned at this, finding it amusing. His older brother almost never cried. If anything, it was Lifty who would cry more often. For some reason, it felt good seeing his brother in tears. But it must have been something serious if he was about to cry, and looked like he just ran a marathon. "W-wipe that grin off your face!" Shifty yelled, fisting away tears.
Lifty stood up from his seat, walking over to Shifty. "Dude, what happened to you?" He asked. Shifty snivelled. "I was caught…" He says. Lifty's eye brows shot up. "Really? Oh my god…are you okay?" Shifty nodded quickly. "I'm fine, I made a run for it, b-but, I lost my hat…" He says as tears form in his eyes again.
Lifty looked un-amused. "That's all? You almost got caught, and you're worried about a HAT?" Lifty asks with a snicker. Shifty snivels again. "Shut up! I really liked that hat…" He whines. Lifty sighed, shaking his head. His gaze traveled up to his hat, and he growled a little. "Idiot! Use mine!" He said, taking his hat off his head, placing it on Shifty's.
"I'm sorry…Lifty…" Shifty continued to whine. "Shut up!" Lifty said. Shifty wiped away his tears. "But, now you don't have hat…" Lifty shook his head. "I don't mind. You probably need it a lot more than I do." He says with a sigh. The two grin, and let out their signature chuckle.
The two were older now, and just as close. Things have changed, and yet so much hasn't. They still steal, argue, get caught (occasionally) and have each others backs. Always.
