"Boys time to wake up," Audra yelled opening the door to Drew's room that I share with him and flipped on the lights.

"Ugh… five more minutes," I heard Drew groan I sat up in my own bed and looked at that mess these people call Drew. The bedspread was over half his body and he was laying face down with his limbs fully extended making him kinda look like a starfish.

"Dude, I called pulling the rest of the covers off him. He groaned which I ignored as I chose my clothes and made my way to the bathroom. Not thinking or knocking I opened the door. Adam stood absolutely mortified with a towel wrapped around his body at first I didn't notice a problem but then my eyes traveled south. The dude had boobs… wait what? How is that even- then it hit me like a ton of bricks. Adam is a transgender. I opened my mouth to speak but no words came out. We continued to stare at each other without talking. When I finally managed to get something out this is what I came up with, "Dude that is some fucked up shit."
"Can you please let me explain?" the younger boy pleaded.
"Can we wait until you're clothed?" I begged in return trying not to sound like a douche.
"Yeah," Adam answered before I turned to leave. "Well that was awkward," I sighed to myself. I may be a bit homophobic but I still wasn't sure about my stance on transgenders... my cousin Ashley is one and I've always felt a little over protective of her. I just don't know, sure Adam has a higher pitched voice and was smaller than most guys his age but I would've never guessed. I guess I was kind of lost in thought because I didn't notice Adam enter my room fully dressed.
"Umm... this is one of the most awkward situations I've ever been in," he stated focusing on the ground.
"Likewise," I agreed and the room fell silent.
"Do you want me to explain?" Adam asked still not looking at me.
"I think it's pretty clear that you're a transgender," I answered.
"That's about it," he replied
"It makes sense though," I suddenly burst out
"How?"
"Your brother told me to tone down on the gay jokes, I just thought you were bi and if I had said that stuff it would've offended you." I answered
"So... we cool?" he asked holding out his fist to be bumped
"Yes," I answered bumping his extended fist.
