Tohru had needed to go shopping and Shigure had decided to accompany her. This left Kyo and Yuki alone in the house together. Well, they would have been alone had Hatsuharu not stopped by to visit Yuki. At the moment the rat and the ox were sitting down in the living room cuddling with each other. Kyo stood unnoticed in the doorway behind them, observing the pair. There was a scowl on his face and sorrow and jealousy in his eyes. He was jealous that they were happy together and that their feelings for each other were returned. Kyo had feelings for both of them but he was always unnoticed. He knew that it would never work; he was the cursed cat and would never receive another person's affection.

Yuki just happened to turn his head and catch a glimpse of orange in the corner of his eye. Sitting up completely, he turned and was surprised to see Kyo standing in the doorway. Violet eyes widened when he saw the sadness hidden in crimson orbs. Before he was able to say or do anything, Kyo turned and disappeared up the stairs in a dead sprint. Yuki turned to look at Haru, concern in his eyes.

"We'll go make sure he's okay," Haru answered the unasked question in his boyfriend's eyes. They stood up and hurried upstairs. Stopping in front of Kyo's door, they looked at each other, silently debating on knocking or not. Deciding against it, Yuki opened the door slowly. Kyo lay on the bed face down, his head buried in his pillow.

"Kyo," Yuki said quietly, stepping into the room with Haru following behind him. Kyo jumped, literally, at the sound of the other teen's voice. He launched himself off of the bed and into a corner. He was curled up in a fetal position, making himself as small as possible. Haru and Yuki were surprised to see tears streaming down his face but he refused to make a single sound.

"Please, please don't hurt me. I won't tell anyone anything I promise. I won't watch you two ever again, I swear. Please don't hurt me," Kyo pleaded with them. He kept his red eyes trained on the floor, refusing to look at Yuki and Haru.

"Kyo we're not going to hurt you. What's wrong Kyo? Why were you watching us in the first place," Haru asked. He slowly moved closer to Kyo as he spoke, lowering himself into a crouch to be the same height as the cat.

"It doesn't matter. The two of you would never want me anyway. I'm just a filthy, disgraceful, ugly cat," Kyo said quietly.

Without warning Haru's right hand shot out and grasped Kyo's jaw in a gentle yet firm grip. He raised the older teen's head up to look at him. "I never want to hear you talking about yourself like that again. You are beautiful and this curse does not, nor will it ever, change that," Black Haru said firmly.

"Haru's right, Kyo. You are magnificent. You are the most independent and fiery person I have ever met," Yuki said. He knelt next to Haru and placed a hand on Kyo's shoulder. Haru's hand moved from holding Kyo's jaw to cupping his cheek gently.

"I don't understand," Kyo whispered, shocked.

"We're trying to tell you that we care about you, Kyo. We haven't said anything because we didn't think you were interested. We want the get to know you, Kyo," Yuki said.

Kyo smiled slightly and hugged the other two zodiac members. Maybe things could work out after all.
