Kai: January 4th
Kai slowly opened his eyes and sat up. His hair was messier than usual, and his eyes squinted, trying to adjust to the sunlight seeping through the window. He swung his legs over the side of the bed. Suddenly, he fell on to the floor with a thud just as he remembered he is on the top bunk.
He groaned and rubbed his head. He pushed himself off the floor, and glanced around as his eyes began to clear up and adjust. He stood up and brushed himself off.
He let out a loud yawn, and heard the song, '22,' by Taylor Swift playing. He quickly rushed to his cell phone which was under his bed, making sure no one heard it.
He looked at the small screen, which read, 'Calender Appointment.' He quickly hit, 'view.' The date said January 4th. He read the letters he had written previously, to prepare for this date. 'MY B-DAY!' He looked hard at the letters, and a grin slowly spread across his face.
He exited the screen and ran down the hallway, towards the deck. Suddenly, Jay popped out behind a wall. "HAPPY BIRTH-" Kai accidentally hit him in the face being shocked by the surprise, assuming it was an attack.
He covered his mouth with both hands as he peered down at Jay who looked unconscious. "Day..." Jay muttered.
A while later, everyone had said happy birthday to Kai, and most gave him a card. Cole gave him a twenty dollor bill, Zane gave him five dollors, Nya 20, Sensei gave him a tea bag, and Jay gave him a penny, saying, "What? That's all I had."
The day slowly came to night, and Kai had forgotten about his birthday. He fell asleep in a beanbag chair watching t.v. He was suddenly awoken when a bag was thrown over him. He was in pure shock, and fought to get out. He heard lite laughing followed by a smacking sound and an, "owww..."
Soon, he was dropped on the ground. The tod of the bag slowly opened and he found himself on the deck with all the others. Colorful lights lite up the floor and a table in the middle had chips, soda, candy, and presents. Everyone rushed over to the opposite side of the deck then were Kai was, and shouted in union, "HAPPY BIRTHDAY, KAI!" He ran and jumped into the pile of presents. He received a few Bruce Lee posters, a few different kinds of advanced swords, some violent Tom Cruise movies, Fist to Face 2, a gift card to Pizza hut, and a few shirts that somehow associated fire.
After the presents, the got out the cake. Lloyd, who was all ready on a sugar rush from the candy and soda, screamed with joy when the cake was brought to the table. Lloyd lit the cake with his elemental powers, and they began to sing. At the end of the song, everyone began cheering, but you could hear Jay and Lloyd shout, "FUNKY CHICKEN!"
Kai got a big piece of cake, Cole stole half of it, Zane got a regular sized piece, as did everyone else besides Lloyd, who only got about on incing of cake with out frosting. Kai tried on the new pajamas he had also gotten, and ran around with the swords. He hung up the Bruce Lee posters, and the boys all played Fist to Face 2. They had a movie marathon with the whole group, and they all fell asleep in the room, the only light from the t.v. flickering.
The last thing Kai thought of was what and amazing family he had.
