A/N. FLUFFFFF.
Disclaimer: I wish.
Eponine ran her fingers atop her swollen stomach once more.
"Green."
Enjolras scuffed and turned his head and looks at the paint samples.
"Light grey."
Eponine rolls her eyes and sits down in the rocking chair by the corner. "What about you, sunshine? What do you want?"
Enjolras walks over to his wife and puts a hand on her shoulder. "I don't think the baby will care."
"Then why do we care so much?"
Eponine sighs. "No idea. I mean, green would like nice and the grey.." Just then she gasped then narrowed her eyes.
Enjolras' eyes widen. "What's wrong?"
"The baby kicked at your damn color!" Eponine yells. "Your color, not mine!"
Enjolras had to hold back a laugh. "I'm sorry Ep."
Eponine rolls her eyes and pulls her long hair into a ponytail. "Well I'm going to go to yoga. You and Courfeyrac have fun painting the room." She kisses him softly and leaves the apartment.
Eponine returns around three hours later to the smell of new paint. She hears an agonizing sigh.
"Courf, why did I agree to let you do polka dots?"
Eponine's eyes widen. Polka dots? For their child that could easily be a boy?
"Because you wanted green in here too!"
Eponine smiled and walked into the room, leaning on the door frame.
"Yes! To surprise-" Enjolras smiles and walks to his wife. "Surprise?" He said with his crooked smile.
Eponine looks around the room and sees the grey walls with the oversized green polka dots lining the center of the walls. "I love it." She murmurs, kissing him softly.
That was Courfeyrac's cue to leave. He didn't even have to say goodbye.
And sure enough, four months later, when little Alexander Phillip Enjolras entered the world (after fourteen hours of treacherous labor), the blue swaddle laid down in his crib.
"These colors are quite relaxing." Enjolras tells his wife.
Eponine smiles and lays in bed. Once Enjolras joins her, she curls to his size, lucky that her body lost all the weight she gained the day she had Alexander. She links their hands together. "The colors go nicely together." She mumbles before falling asleep.
Just ten minutes later, an earpiercing scream was heard.
Eponine groaned and hit Enjolras' side. "Your turn."
