thoughts: I'm just going to feed my NaLu feels with some more mindless drabbles (they just keep getting shorter and shorter, don't they).
Don't try to stop me.
By the way, if you vote on my poll, I WILL write a drabble of that otp if I get enough voters.
pairing: Natsu & Lucy
disclaimer: disclaimed.
wanderland waltz
Hand in hand, held up high, he holds her close and she falls into him. A delicate hand on his shoulder, she smiles brightly and he smiles back. Feet slowly, steadily take brave steps forward.
("You stepped on my foot, Natsu!
"Aren't I supposed to?"
"You—"
"Kidding. I'm kidding.")
Turning together, shoulders bumping, she giggles again and again and he blows frustrating pink strands from his eyes but shares a shy grin.
("Your sense of rhythm is horrendous."
"I can't help it— There's no music."
"Yes, there is. Can't you hear it?"
"Where?"
"It's there. You just have to listen closely.")
So he closes his eyes and carefullly, he listens. Lucy watches him with interest, chocolate orbs full of wonder. And he hears it all— in the trees, in the river, in the world all around them. But most of all he hears it in her musical laughter, in her clumsy footsteps (or were those his?), and in her jittery heartbeat.
("I think I hear it now!"
"See? I told you."
"Shut up. This is stupid, and I can't believe I'm doing this right now.")
But her grin simply widens, cheeks flushing (and not just from the chilly night air), and so he secretly likes it.
And they're spinning, spinning, spinning. Faster and faster, until feet slip, legs entangle, and breaths are taken away. Their lips meet with sloppy, fleeting kisses, and they smile against each other.
As their performance comes to a close, they fall and fall and fall,
and it feels like magic.
ending notes: My drabbles get harder and harder to understand... I blame everything on NaLu & Fairy Tail & infinite cuteness.
Ugh. But I digress.
