Tyrell Wellick walked into his apartment, humming the Swedish national anthem. He only hummed it when he was reason to be happy, and he had a reason to be happy. He had been appointed as Junior Vice President of Technology today of E Corp today. This was a big milestone for him and his wife. The position of CTO was closer another step.
"Joanna? Var är du?" he shouted for his wife when he arrived in the kitchen.
"Jeg er med toilet" came his wife's reply from the bathroom. She spoke Danish, while he spoke Swedish. That was their usual way of communication.
"I have good news" Tyrell said.
"Wait a second!" Joanna said back. Within a quarter of a minute he heard the toilet flush and his wife, beautiful as always, came out.
Tyrell smiled at her.
"What?" she asked.
"You are looking at E Corp's Junior Vice President of Technology" Tyrell said.
"Already? Did they let Kieran already go?" asked Joanna. Kieran meant Kieran Cherrystone, the previous Junior Vice President of Technology.
Tyrell nodded.
"Terry saw the pictures already. He fired Kieran without a second thought!" Tyrell said. Actually it was Tyrell that had slept with Terry Colby's wife. He had met her at a party were everyone used masks to cover their identities. They soon got into bed and she passed out of the sex and the many glasses of champagne she had consumed. Tyrell just removed the mask from her face and took a few pictures. Then he just put them in Kieran Cherrystone's Technology-report that was meant for the very same Terry Colby.
"This is very good, Tyrell" Joanna commented. "You did very well"
"I got a nice Richebourg for these good news. Wanna try it out?" Tyrell asked.
"No. I wanna go past that now" Joanna replied and pressed her lips against his.
An hour later:
Both Wellicks laid naked in the bed. Joanna was asleep, while Tyrell remained awake.
This could actually happen, he thought. He could become the CTO of E Corp one day. Maybe even the CEO. Of course he needs to still become Senior Vice President of Technology and he needs to collect credit, but it seemed now so plausible. Of course he would need to get the current one out of his way, the Senior. That was currently Roger Cruz. He'd find a way to get rid of him. Then would come Terry Colby, the CTO. He's powerful, but also an idiot. The CEO, Philip Price was a whole other story. The man was experienced, smart and wealthy, someone Tyrell could not as easily take out him as the others. But he will, one day. He and Joanna are unstoppable in this and he'll do anything to ensure that they'll be one day the leading forces of E Corp, and through that the world…
