Asuka Langley Soryu was terrified. She was lying in the entryplug of Unit-02 seriously wounded from the neural feedback of having a Lance Of Longinus rammed through her Eva's eye. Her situation was grim indeed.Her Eva's backup batteries had run dry,and the production model Evangelions she thought she'd defeated had regenerated themselves.
Somehow,an external camera was still running off a tiny bit of power that remained for life support and Asuka could see the production Eva's closing in for the kill. They were nearly upon her,when she heard a loud voice coming from behind her assailants. It cried out :"BIG,POWER,SWORDO,FIGHTO.FIREY! What Asuka saw next made her think that she'd gone insane from pain and fatigue.Challenging the Eva's was what looked to be a hundred-fifty feet tall ten year old girl.She was clad in a samurai's kimono and hakama,and held a great blazing sword that shone as if it were the sun itself.The Eva's turned their attention from Asuka and her stricken Unit-02 and ran toward the giantess,lances held high,eager to slay this upstart who dared to defy them.The first to close the distance with the giantess was cleaved in half and erupted in a titanic geyser of flame.The second suffered greater than it's predecessor for it was hit with a lightning fast barrage of punches and kicks before the giantess dispatched it with her fiery blade.Three more of the Eva's not wanting to risk close combat,hurled their lances at the gigantic child.She pulled two titanic cards from her hakama pockets and holding one out shouted: "SHIELDO! and the lances were deflected by a great invisible wall that encircled her.
She then dropped the invisible shield and held out the second card and shouted "THUNDER!" and three massive bolts of lighting erupted from her hand and struck her the three lance throwers.There was a howl of agony from the trio,which promptly collapsed into a pile of ashes.The two remaining Eva's spread their wings and took to the sky hoping to divebomb their tormentor.The giantess pulled out yet another card,and sprouted wings of her own and flew upward in pursuit.They were so far up,Asuka could barely make out the three titanic figures as they fought.Suddenly, there was a great blinding flash of light, which made Asuka shield her good eye,and what remained of the last two Eva's plummeted burning from the sky,and slammed into the earth,the impact making Unit-02 tremble.The gigantic child flew down to earth and bade her wings and the blazing sword vanish. She turned her attention toward Unit-02 and walked over to it.She reached down and gently removed the entry plug and carefully,sat it on the ground.The next thing Asuka knew, the entry plug hatch was torn free, and she saw her savior in her normal small,dimensions.The little girl climbed into the entry plug and said: "Don't be afraid.I won't hurt you. You are going to be fine."The child then lay her hand on Asuka's forehead and Asuka felt a warm healing energy begin to flow through her body,restoring her left eye and healing her wounds. "Please!"Asuka pleaded."You saved me!" "Who are you?!!"Please tell me your name!!" The girl answered "Sakura,. Kinomoto ,Sakura."Th-thank you Sakura!!" Asuka sobbed,her eyes filling with joyful tears.As Asuka fell into a peacefull sleep,one last word escaped her lips: "Haanyaaan.."
