She was there, on the other side of the force-field.

Jaffa were approaching, the C4 was about to blow, and there was an impenetrable wall between them. Her blue eyes begging him to go, to leave her.

A collection of emotions stole through his body. Fear for her life. Fear for his own. And one feeling he hadn't felt in a decade: Love. It glowed amongst the murky fear and despair of the rest of him. It wasn't supposed to be there; but it was. He saw it, too, reflected in her.

They were separated. Separated by a wall of energy. And by a wall of regulations, just as invisible, but just as real.

One word rose above the tumult to the surface of his mind.
