Chin Up

The Seville house really hadn't been the same since Theodore's accident. He was driving home from his job at the Bakery with Cinnamon buns for Simon and Jeanette, Cream Cheese Danishes for Alvin and Brittany, Green Lantern Insignia maple donuts for Noah and Annabeth, snicker doodles for his wife Eleanor and his 9-year-old daughter Andromeda, and Red hot Ruby gummies for Noah's 12-year-old triplets Roan, Conner, and Brittany Anne. Suddenly, some drunk dude in a Volvo crashed into Theo's mini-van. The drunk guy died, but Theodore survived, but he lost a lot of blood. He was rushed to the Hospital and put in Intensive Care. The whole family waited in the Waiting Room. The Chipettes were praying and comforting Eleanor. Alvin and Simon were crying and hugging each other. They didn't think Theodore was gonna make it. But Noah had his eyes closed, muttering prayers and enchantments in Gaelic, mostly asking for Theodore's safety and survival and for strength. Suddenly, he felt a tug on his shirt. He looked down and saw Andromeda, her green eyes watering. "Uncle Noah, will Daddy be okay? Please tell me he'll be okay!" She sobbed.

Noah scooped his niece into a hug. "I don't know, Andromeda. I'm hoping. But I really don't know." He said. Andromeda sobbed into Noah's shoulder. Noah cupped his hand under Andromeda's chin and lifted her head up. "Hey, chin up, ok, sweetheart? Your daddy's a tough guy. I'd be surprised if he didn't pull through." He said. The doctor cleared his throat as he walked out of the ICU. "Theodore's got a broken arm, two broken ribs, and a cracked skull. His chances are slim." He said. Noah put Andromeda down and brushed past the doctor. "Slim chance is still a chance, doc. I'm just gonna increase the chance." He said. He walked over to where Theodore's bed was. Theodore's right arm was in a sling, his head was heavily bandaged, and one of his eyes was swollen shut.

Noah raised his hands. His eyes glowed with green energy as he chanted. "I love watching this." Alvin said. "Spirits of Earth, sea and sky, I declare to you, Theodore shall not die! If Fate wants my brother's soul this night, tell him to take a hike!" Noah chanted. Green energy spread throughout Theodore's body. His eye healed, as did the rest of his injuries. He opened his eyes. "Noah, I owe you big time...again." He said, sitting up. "All in a days work, brother." Noah said.
