He didn't know why he kept coming back here.

The hope that had once filled this room had long since shriveled and died. She wasn't even that special. All of the Guardians lost millions of believers, yet Bunny was always drawn back to her.

Maybe it was because of how quickly her light had died. At the ripe age of six, the once vibrant girl before him had lost all of her hope. But still, there were children who's light had vanished even younger. Maybe it was because of her situation. Bunny felt like he failed her, unable to guide her or send her hope. She had spent her whole life being neglected and emotionally abused by her family which had led her to depression by the age of eight. From there things only got worst as she began to self harm and become more recluse. Maybe it was because despite all of her pain, and her longing to die, she still tried her best to make others smile. To make others laugh. Maybe it was because she was alone and lost, like he had was after his kind was slaughtered.

Bunny sighed. Here he was sitting in some poor teenager's room staring at her for the past few hours, thinking about her like some bloody creep. Yet, even after all this time Bunny still didn't know what he was doing here. He had tons of work back at the Warren, and the Guardians were having a meeting in just a few hours. There was no point in being here. She didn't believe in him, which meant he couldn't comfort her or stop her from cutting. It was time to go. He had already spent enough time watching the broken girl in front of him and promised himself that this was it. No more coming back after this.

Standing up from the corner in which he was sitting, Bunny made his way to the open window to his left. He was about to climb through when he felt it. A small, single, quick, yet powerful, spark of hope. Bunny froze in his tracks. Normally Bunny wouldn't have felt something that small unless he was right next to the source of the spark. Turning around slowly, Bunny faced the girl who had been the center of his thoughts all day. She was sitting in the middle of her room staring at her mirror, with her eyes puffy, and arms bloody. Looking over ever detail she could, she acted like normal and Bunny thought that spark of hope was long gone by now.

But then it happened.

A slow, wobbly smile crawled onto her face. Gazing back into her own eyes, she forced her smile to grow and stated, "You will survive. You will get better. You are strong."

Taking a breath she finished, "You just need to have hope."

Bunny felt the spark turn into a flame, granted a small one, but a flame nonetheless. A smile broke a cross his face and that's when he remembered why he always came back.

He came back because he had hope.

Part one of two, this one was really short so the next one will definitely be longer. Please tell me what you think.
