A/N-So inspriation struck me and I wrote this all in one sitting when I was trying to finish the new chapter of Flip Flop…Enjoy.

Heartbeat

Congratulations.

You've broken the literal heart of the band. We hope you're happy now.

Although you have your so called 'reasons', we don't understand them at all. You aren't allowing us to go to Wildwood for Championships weekend why?

Oh right. The orchestra concert.

For the record, although we're sure you know, none of us are actually in the orchestra.

We've heard the rumors. The truth, actually. The school's cutting the funding for the music department and you decided that the indoor drumline is not a part of the music department. The drumline costs money. We can put two and two together.

You've never liked us. You made that pretty clear a few years ago when you made that bass drummer leave Wildwood to be in the orchestra concert. It was while gas was four dollars a gallon and you made her drive home and then back. Her older sister was nine months pregnant at the time and she was ready to pop. And yet she just had to go. You wouldn't let her drop the class that you wanted her to do. She was involved in nearly every other music program.

She used to respect you.

We used to respect you.

As you can probably notice, we used the past tense when talking about you and respect.

There's a saying that says to treat others as you would like to be treated. You must never have heard of it.

You've tried to break us before. Now you have. Two dozen teenagers. We hope you're proud of yourself; we hope you're proud that you crushed the spirit of over twenty teens. Frankly, we don't know how you can live with yourself.

So thanks for nothing,

The drumline.
