It was a shiny day in Philly. The bells of the church were singing like angels announcing the beginning of a new life. The church was decorated with white flowers and a large red carpet was guiding the way to the aisle, where a young couple was standing right in front of the priest, listening to him. They looked beautiful in their wedding outfits, he was wearing an elegant smoking with a big white tie, and she was wearing a simple but fancy bride dress. They both look radiant and the love between them was obvious. They can't seem to be able of take off the look of each other's eyes.

Scotty Valens was holding his bride's hands while repeating the priest words. He looked so happy. All of his friends were there, in the front line, on the most important day of his life, supporting him. John Stillman was looking at him with pride in his eyes, Vera was right beside him, looking pretty good in his tuxedo and looked tire of the ceremony. Completing the group were Geoffries and Kat, who looked like she'd been crying. But there was a significant absence… Lilly wasn't there. She couldn't be there… Not after all that happened between them.

They were seeing each other a few months ago. He was feeling sad and lonely because his girlfriend dumped him, and she was feeling just lonely after her mom died. They simply found comfort in each other arms. They spent days and nights talking, making love, playing around. He was really beginning to fall… That until Sheila reappeared, saying that she really loved him and wanted to get back. He wasn't sure about his feelings for her, but he wasn't sure about Lilly's feelings either so… He went for the only sure thing: Sheila's feelings.

When he told this to Lilly, she seemed to be fine about it. She didn't say anything, or shown any feeling. Just said: "Congratulations, I hope you be happy with her". He was a little disappointed about her reaction, but, there were nothing he could do. It was all said. Even so, when he sent her an invitation to the wedding, she excused saying that she had other things to do. He was disappointed one more time, because he really wanted his best friend on his wedding, but Lilly was a tough girl to convince of anything. That's why he was here this day. But now, seeing Sheila's eyes, he knew for sure that he made the right choice.

That's because he didn't know that, right across the street, hidden behind a big tree, was Lilly, with a bunch of tears in her deep blue eyes, trying to figure out why the man she loved was marrying to another woman. How this could happen? Ohhh, she knew why. Because of her own insecurities, her own troubles to deal with a relation-ship, her lack of courage to say "I love you". She loved him, deeply. But she never got the guts to tell him that. She was so afraid of another love failure, specially when it comes to someone you worked with. But now, her worst fears became true. Ok, it was her fault: she knew that If she had told him about her feelings, none of this would happen. And she wouldn't have to leave the squad…

A sudden movement across the street brought her back to reality. The couple was leaving the church. All of the guests were throwing them rice. Lilly felt the pain stroking her heart, when she saw Scotty in his smoking. He looked so handsome and masculine… God! She thought. What have I done? This is all my fault… She put a hand in her belly and touch it softly. Now it was too late. For her, it was too late to say: I love you!
