Scene One - James Dean & Audrey Hepburn
"I thought I loved you."
Draco knows straight away what that means, he knows just what Hermione means by that.
"And now?" He asks, "how do you feel now?"
"I don't know, Draco. We rushed into this so fast I don't even know what I'm feeling. Everything is so confusing and muddled. I need… I need time to think, I have to go."
She's leaving him; he knows that. He realises he always knew this would happen one day, he loved her more than she loved him. He'd fallen too hard and too fast and now it was coming back to ruin him.
"I gave up so much for you, Hermione."
"I know. I'm–"
"No you don't know." He cuts her off. "My parents don't talk to me, my friends hate me – they needed me and I left them for you and now you're telling me you're not sure if you ever loved me? I gave up so much, and for what?" He laughs bitterly.
He feels like he's thrown away everything he had for nothing. Well, maybe not nothing, but she doesn't love him, not like he needs her to.
"I'll always love you." Draco tells her; she needs to know that, at least; he feels she deserves that, somehow. Or maybe, he thinks, he deserves to tell her just one last time.
"Draco, I don't–" Hermione looks pained, he can't even bring himself to think that she deserves it.
"I know." He stops her, "but I love you."
He doesn't look at her as she leaves, he doesn't want to remember the look in her eyes as she leaves him, forever.
They say that love is forever; your forever is all that I need. Please stay, forever with me.
