Disclamer: I don't own them, Saban does.

SLAM!

"Watch out Kim!" Tommy called out to her as she fought off the tengas. Except the "her" wasn't Kimberly Ann Hart. It was Katherine Hillard. Kat sighed inwardly. It was been three weeks and she didn't know how many time in morph since since Kim had given up her power coin and made Kat the new Pink Ranger and yet Tommy just kept slipping and calling her his girlfriend's name. She supposed she couldn't really blame him. The ranger costume was basically the same, after all. So what if Kat was a good deal taller and had a completely different body shape. So what if it was Kat that saved his ass a couple dozen times over the last little while.

SPIN! PUNCH-KICK COMBO!

The really sad part was that she had caught Tommy slipping up and calling her Kim a few times when she wasn't in morph. He would look over at the girl in pink and the name would automatically spring to his lips. He'd catch himself but she had learned to recognize the wince on his face that he showed every time it occurred. And she understood. Kim had been part of the team for more than two years. More, Kim was Tommy's girlfriend, it was only natural that she be on his mind. But it was getting annoying. And it didn't help that she had a bit of a crush on Tommy herself.

It was something she'd never admit to him. She honestly wasn't sure herself whether her feelings were truly real or just some leftover programming from when she had been under Rita Repulsa's spell. Obviously she hadn't had the feelings naturally when Rita first sent her after Tommy, she hadn't even met him then. The possessiveness she felt and the need to take Kim's place was something Rita had done to her. What made it confusing was that they didn't go away when the spell was broken. Oh, she no longer wanted to do something as horrible as break Tommy and Kim up but the part of her that had wanted to make Tommy hers wasn't gone. Horrible as that was. What made it worse was when she actually HAD taken Kim's place on the Ranger team. There was no way she could have turned down the honour and she would try her best to live up to Kim's legacy but..Kim was gone now.

DUCK! DUCKDUCK! PUNCH!

Still, something kept her from becoming a completely horrible person. It was the thing that had been annoying her the past few weeks and it was the thing that had saved her from becoming the kind of person she would never want to be. Tommy kept calling her by his girlfriend's name. She knew, to him, she was just a pale Kim copy. Not even a person of her own, in his eyes, and that hurt. But it kept her honest.

SPINNING KICK!

She looked around and noticed the tengas were gone. It seemed they had had enough of being beaten up by heroes in brightly coloured spandex. Looking around to make sure no one was watching, she ran over to Tommy and the others and demorphed.

"Good job, Ki-Kat." Tommy said to her, wincing slightly.

"Thanks." she gave him a bright smile before turning to the others. "I'm knackered. How about we go get something to drink and cool off?"
