(A/N: This was inspired by the story of Samson and Delilah in the bible. I recommend looking up the story if you don't know it already—it'll make this story a lot easier to understand. [You can just type "Samson and Delilah" into Google.] Have you done your research? Okay, then. Enjoy!)
Samson and Delilah
The way Emily saw it, she was Delilah and Sam was Samson.
Emily had total power over Sam. She could ask to know every one of his deepest secrets and he would have told them to her.
She could betray Sam in any way she wanted and he wouldn't get mad at her.
It was horrible. Knowing that she had so much power over one person was too much.
Emily didn't want Sam to be under her control. She didn't want a Samson-and-Delilah relationship—one where she could do anything she wanted and he wouldn't care.
Emily just wanted a nice, normal relationship. Was that too much to ask for?
Apparently it was.
Emily didn't want to be Delilah, and she didn't want Sam to be Samson.
Emily just wanted to be Emily, and she wanted Sam to be Sam.
