Remember me. Short SasuKarin fic. Sasuke's perspective

After he picked up Suigetsu, another tool he was sure would prove useful to complete his goals, he arrived at the Southern Hideout. He went there with a certain goal in mind. He knew the girl he'd meet there was the same one he saved several years ago. He met her after he accepted Orochimaru as his master several times, but they never really interacted much. However, due to data he gathered, he was aware of just how strong and useful she was. To him, she was the strongest konoichi he ever encountered. It was only natural he would chose her to come with him. And that in itself, was quite /something/.

Being chosen by an elite Uchiha like Sasuke that is.

He had to admit, from the day he saved her, he felt a strange sensation whenever he thought of her. Even though after the first time he met her, thoughts of her were limited and overtaken by his passion for revenge. But from the day he started to live with Orochimaru, she was on his mind often.

It were just small things, like wondering what she was doing and how strong she was now. Somewhere deep within, he also worried for her safety, but that feeling was far, far away locked within the depths of his heart. They only ever came obvious later on, when he would do practically /anything/ to save her life.

He soon stood before the red-head. She'd become a lot more confident than from when she was a child. He could tell from the position in which she stood before him.

After some time they were alone in a locked room. He wondered a little when she locked it, but regardless he did not think much of it. Neither of them mentioned yet that they remembered each other. Sasuke waited for her to say it, because he didn't want to seem like the kind of person who cares for such trivial things when he had by far more important goals in mind. This was just the kind of guy he was. He wouldn't dare insult his own pride. He noticed the girl acted weird, she acted the way most fangirls would and this somehow told him she might as well have forgotten all about him. He didn't care at all though since there were other things he wanted to archieve. Plainly he said the one thing he really meant. "I need you." He said it in such a serious and genuine tone, it mirrored what really was on his mind. Not only did he need her for his goals, he also felt the need to have her by his side. To just have that girl that brought a smile to his face when everything else depressed him. He wanted to feel the happiness she once caused him to feel again. That was a thought locked away deep within him. And he would never admit to it.

The one thing that upset him was how she on the other hand did not seem to remember him. He hoped he would have left an impact on her memory… but now that it did not seem the case, he decided to never bring the true sensation he felt for her up.

He often thought of bringing it up. She seemed perfect for many of his goals. To kill Itachi, to destroy the leaf, to revive his clan…

There was so much he intented her for, but in the end he never got around telling her that one most important thing. The thing that eased him and made him forget about his miserable life.

No. Telling her when she did not remember him at all would just be idiotic. So he forgot about the idea rather quick.
