11- 17-11

It was a warm spring day in Japan, cherry blossoms fell to the ground like rain. The "kira case" had ended just over a week ago. L was bewildered by the fact that it took 6 years to find out that the slaughterer was the man handcuffed to him. Light Yagami, the detective's first and only friend. Now L had a new quandary to crack: Sayu Yagami had gone missing. She was an intelligent young girl and was always happy so L didn't think that she ran away, she must have been kidnapped. She was Light's younger sister and now he was worried sick which made L worry. After everyone went to bed L decided to call his successors. He really missed them and wanted to make sure that they were ok; he also knew that they were mad at him for leaving.

"Hello?" a male voice answered. Mello he thought that had to be him.

"Hello Mello." L responded Mello hated it when people rhyme his name with other words.

"L? Wait no dad? How... why are you calling?" at first he sounded surprised but by the end of the sentence he was yelling. Mello was a moody boy, that's why Watari changed his name to Mello, Watari was being sarcastic. There was a very awkward silence. In the background L could hear a girl talking it sounded like Sayu. Odd, but it was probably Matt's girlfriend or something.

"Mello? Do you know about a girl named Sayu Yagami?" L asked.

"Uh... I um no I've never heard of her." He said quickly "I have to go and um do stuff." And he hung up. L was immediately suspicious.

"Matt I think L is looking for Sayu, he asked me if I knew who she was but I said no." Mello said cooking ramen noodles in the microwave. Mello, Matt and Near "kidnapped Sayu. Well she wasn't really kidnapped she came with them when they asked; no one could resist Nears puppy face. They told her their situation and she said that she would help them. She was playing "go fish" with Near.

Meanwhile L had traced Mello's phone to where their location was. He told Watari that he was going out to buy some things which wasn't a complete lie. On his way to get the boys he picked up the newest game, chocolate and a puzzle one treat for each of them. During that time he had convinced himself that they didn't kidnap her.

When he rang the doorbell and Sayu answered it. L's jaw dropped in amazement. Mello, Matt and Near had seriously kidnapped her. He had never been more surprised and amused in his whole life. Then the boys came out with their bags all packed. They were smiling like they had just done the coolest thing in the world.

"you three had this all planed out didn't you." L asked with a smirk on his face.

"yes" they all said at the same time. L hugged them and picked up Near who was really tired, it was far past his bed time. After all it was 8:00 and he was only 2.

He took them all to the HQ and dropped Sayu off at her house.
