Show: How I Met Your Mother
Couple: Barney & Robin
Theme: Set after 7x12 (spoilers)
Story: This takes place in the bathroom after Robin tells Barney that she's pregnant. I want to warn those who haven't seen this episode yet but you all probably did already.
Life: Life is complicated sometimes but not always a bad thing. We, take life for granted sometimes and sometimes we make the worst mistakes but those mistakes might be a good thing.
"I'm pregnant" Robin said in a low voice. Robin never thought that the night she had with Barney would lead to her getting pregnant cause well they did use protection.
There was a silence in the bathroom both Robin and Barney were in shocked. Both, never thought this would happen but it did.
After about 2 minutes of silence Barney got up to the courage to speak.
"What?" Is all Barney could say which wasn't helpful to Robin's situation at all.
"I'm pregnant and you're the father." Robin said trying to not be annoyed at Barney's response to this news.
"I know I heard you the first time." Barney said in a shocked but calm voice. He didn't want to upset her more right now.
"I'm"
"I'm shock"
Barney and Robin sat on the bathtub not saying anything to each other after what they just said. Robin finally spoke up again after another few seconds went by.
"So, I'm going to need your help. I'm going to be making an appointment to see the doctor on Monday morning and I need you to be there." Robin said standing up and walking over to the sink where the pregnancy test was laying.
"Okay, but I'm still in shock how can you be pregnant when we used protection?" Said Barney wondering why he said what he said cause once he said it it didn't make sense.
"I, know I am too but Barney you can not tell anybody I need this to stay between us." Robin said as she started to whip tears away from her face and eyes.
"Fine, I will go and leave you to be by yourself for now." Barney said as he left the way he came in through the window.
As Barney left, Robin stood very still looking at herself in the mirror and crying. She never thought she would be pregnant not only that she never thought she would be pregnant with Barney's child. This took her by surprise. She hoped that this Thanksgiving would have been better but it's not. But, she was relieved that Barney knows now, she wasn't going to tell him but she couldn't tell anyone else or they would find out about that night they had.
After about another half hour clearing her head in the bathroom Robin came out of the bathroom smiling making sure nobody saw how much pain she was in right now.
It was a nice Thanksgiving with James and Tom with their kids. After this day was over all Barney and Robin could think about was each other so after some time alone Barney called Robin.
