My Beloved
It was one of those rare moments that you catch someone doing something that you have never seen him or her do before. This was defiantly one of those moments. I tried my best to stay as quiet as possible and just watch. It was a real joy to sit there and watch without anyone knowing that I was there. It was as if we were actually getting along, and not even I wanted that feeling to go away.
I sat, with ease, watching the moves being made from my beloved. Watching how each move flowed with and into the next. It was as if it was a dance and not training. The more I watched the more I wished that I could share this moment with my love. We could have, at that moment, been husband and wife, wife and husband and not strangers; but I couldn't let that happen. First there needed to be trust, and right now I was not being very trustworthy. My beloved was practicing some kind of technique and all I could do was watch.
I was in fear every time there was a turn towards me, every time I thought that there was a gesture made in my direction, every time that my beloved stopped and paused from the workout. After each time I thought I was found hiding I would crouch farther back into a corner to make sure that I wouldn't be seen. The problem with that was that I couldn't see very well so I would try and sneak out farther to see. It seemed that each time I moved back to keep hidden I had to creep out farther to watch and it started to seem strange.
I felt myself getting more and more exposed to my beloved, but not caring. Just as long as I could see those moves flowing like some wonderful dance, I didn't care one bit. Finally, after what seemed like a full day of practicing fighting techniques it stopped. This time there was a gesture my way, walking. My beloved was walking toward me, I could think of only one thing to do. Hide, and hide fast. As I tried to submerge myself in the clutter that I was cowering behind, the closer my beloved came to me. I thought for sure that I had myself hidden well and out of sight, but I guess I was wrong.
"Meiran," spoke the voice, "next time either join me or leave, but don't watch me. Especially all day."
"How did you know..." I started to ask.
"Your perfume, it is quite unique, and mesmerizing..." he paused.
I just stood up and faced him for the first time that day.
"...I had trouble concentrating with it lingering over to me every so often." He smiled slightly in an almost smug way, and I just stood there blushing. With that all said and done he grabbed my hand and we walked to the house, together as husband and wife, not strangers.
