Chapter 1
As she stepped on to the Rainbow Bridge leading to Sugar Rush, Apple Goldruth gasped. Every landscape was something high in sugar. Ice-cream, gumdrops, lollipops. No wonder they replaced her old game (Cutie Racers) with this game. Her guide, a cough drop named Sour Bill, escorted her down the multi-colored bridge. Candy was walking around, socializing and whatnot. They all ran when they heard a huge horn.
They cheered as they rushed away, to a speedway. They were hopping into stands, which were being put up. Apple and Sour Bill walked behind the stands. There were steps leading up to a large stand. Sour Bill walked up first, followed by Apple. There was a little doorway at the top.
Opening the door, there was a small, dark hallway. At the end of the hallway, was another door. Sour Bill walked ahead of her, to the door. Placing a green hand on the door knob, Sour Bill sighed, "Welcome to the Sugar Rush Speedway." He opened the door, and instantly, Apple was blinded. After a moment, her eyes adjusted. There were candy people cheering and making waves among their little teams.
Apple gaped in awe. This was the first time in a long time she's been on a speedway. She and the cough drop sat in the two seats that were already there. Apple stared at the racers that were already lined up. How their karts were made out of candy and sweets.
A loud voice boomed, "RACERS, START YOUR ENGINES!" The racers did as the voice said. "GET READY…GETS SET…GOOOO!"
