Waiting for you

Song: Keane – Walnut Tree

Elizabeth stared into his eyes, so full of emotion. She ran her hand, along his cheek, the faintest tint of a smile appearing on his lips.

She smiled at him, looking as his eyes began to droop close, her hand, tightly holding his.

They will come. They will come. It was all that kept her living, believing, it was all she could do to keep the hope trapped in her chest.

Squeezing his hand slightly, she watched as his eyes drifted closed, his breathing heavy and labored.

I waited a long, long time,
I waited a long, long time,
I waited a long, long time.
