Cinderella obviously doesn't belong to me (I wish) but the following story does...please review so I'll know of I should write more......
Eve's Diary
Oct. 6, 6:10am
I just finished straitening my hair. As my stepmother says strait hair is my only curse. My two stepsisters will be waking up soon. They're five years apart. Sandra's my age and Stephanie's 10, but they look like twins. They have blonde hair, blue eyes, and pale skin and stand in my shadow. Stepmother always tells them to act like me, ha like they ever could. I'm African American, the top student in my class, captain of the cheerleading squad, and girlfriend of the captain of the football team. My stepmother treasures me and my stepsisters worship me. I have the perfect life.
Oct. 6, 8:10am
My father was sitting at the table this morning when I walked down in my cheerleading uniform; I always wear it on game days. He stared at me and I knew he was disappointed in me, he always has been. I don't know why though. It's not that he doesn't love me, it's just that he...well I don't know. Anyway I never wrote down how I got this journal. I found it behind a loose wall panel. I thought I might as well write in it. Maybe ten years from now I'll find this and read about my life as a fifteen-year-old. Well the bell just rang and I don't want to be late for class.
Oct. 6, 12:00pm
Writing in this has become addicting. Well a new girl joined our class today and she's a total outcast. My best friend Jenny was teasing her after class and I got up and told her off! I don't know what I was thinking! Well what's done is done. I still can't believe I did that. It was just something about her.
Oct. 7, 2:00am
I can't sleep I keep dreaming about that new girl. I don't even know her name. Mrs. Ghall announced it but I was passing Jenny a note. Sandra's snoring in the next room, I can here her. Well, I'm going to bed.
Oct. 7, 12:00pm
I'm sitting under the bleachers in the gym. I had a free period before lunch today. So did Jane. That's the new girl's name. I can't think of anyone who looks less like a Jane. I followed her to the river at the end of the street. I had never been off campus during school hours, but I just needed to follow her. I had been keeping a distance so she wouldn't see me, but when I turned a corner she was gone. I looked for her until I slipped and fell into the river. Then I ran back here before anyone could see me and hid. Oh I don't know what to do!
Oct. 7, 2:00pm
I'm in my room. I came home and told my stepmother someone had spilt water on me in art. She'll believe anything. I went upstairs to clean off while my stepmother called the school and told them I was sick. I cleaned of and realized I cut my face, but it will heal soon.
Oct. 8, 7:00
My stepmother wanted me to wait to come to school until my cut healed, but I just have to see what Jane is up to. Today I wore green army patterned cargo pants and a green tank top, so I'll camouflage. I can just avoid the other cheerleaders. I didn't straiten my hair or put on makeup today, I forgot. Oh and the most amazing thing happened, my father smiled at me this morning.
