UP ABOVE THE WORLD SO HIGH

"Sammy, I really don't like this!" Dean hollered, arms and legs tightening reflexively.

"It's not like I'm enjoying this either, Dean!" Sam hollered right back.

A strong gust of icy wind blasted through the stand of giant pine trees, setting the pointy tops swaying savagely. Dean shuddered, cold to the bone. Through chattering teeth he muttered, "Now I know what the star at the top of a Christmas tree feels like."

Despite their dire situation, Sam snorted. "Yeah, we're both shiny stars on top of one really, really TALL Christmas tree. Gotta admit the view of the night sky from up here is spectacular."

"If you start singing 'Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star', I will end you!"

Puzzled, Sam peeked through the pine needles at his brother. "Why would I do that?"

Another gust of wind set the tree tops thrashing. "Did it all the time when we were kids," Dean panted.

"Oh."

Dean rested his forehead against rough bark. "Man, when I catch up to that wizard, he's toast!"

"We need to get down first."

"Yeah, time for some angelic intervention. CAS! CAS! We sure could use your help, good buddy! Like real soon!"

A few minutes passed. Then there came a rustle in the spare branches above their heads. Looking up, the Winchesters spied Castiel, perched comfortably.

"Sam. Dean. What are you doing in such a precarious place?"

"Oh, just hangin' around," snarked Dean.

Sam groaned. "Cas, can you please just get us down?"

"Certainly." Cas's wings suddenly appeared.

"Uh, can't you just snap your fingers or something?" stuttered Dean.

"No, I am afraid not, Dean. We must take the long way."

Dean's eyes slammed shut. "Of course we do," he muttered. "Wait til I get my hands on that wizard."
