As I sit here looking at the beautiful sky above
I think of the dragon I once knew
On top of the majestic mountain standing with grace and pride
Wings poise with elegance
Watching the icy ground below
With scales like the pure snow and eyes like sapphires
As the stars shine gems in the black depths of the night come to greet
She greets too
She flies with elegance
And lands on the ice next to me with grace
How I wish to touch her
To feel her icy scales on my skin
Too ride with her through the midnight sea of stars
To play with her on the ice once again
And see her sapphire eyes sparkle with happiness
But I know that will never be
Only in my dreams and memories
For she left me long ago
To be with sleep eternal
As the snow gently starts to fall
And with crystal tears
I remember how her sapphire eyes closed
As her lover laid next to her
As crimson soaked the ice
How the heavens cried their tears
Of the last dragons
And with a heavy heart I lay the roses next to them
With my final words I went away
"Fair well….I'll miss you……be happy my friend…"
