Goodbye Katara
By: Me
This is like my song fic but in a story with no song. Tell me which one is better please!!!
Zuko breathed heavily looking at a picture of him and the girl he loved, Katara. He knew she didn't love him the way he loved her. Not anymore. She liked the avatar more. He didn't want her if she was unhappy with him. If she wasn't happy with him. So he made the only answer that seemed right. Break up with the girl you love.
"Katara. Sit down." Zuko said as he led her by her hand to the squishy red velvet couch.
"What is it Zuko?" Katara asked sitting down and seeing the look in his eyes. It scared her.
"I… I'm… Katara were through…" Zuko said his commander side took over his softer side that proved to have lost control.
"What?" Katara whispered tears falling down her cheeks.
"I'm sorry but you don't love me like I love you. We have futures where just not part of each others." Zuko said softer trying to calm her he knew he wouldn't be able to when he himself felt like he just ripped out his and her heart.
"I love you with all my heart! Don't do this to me Zuko!" Katara cried and he held her like he did when she was sad when they went out. For the last time. He felt her warm body against his. Her brown hair tickling his neck and chin. Her arms around his neck. He soaked as much of it in as he could.
"You know you don't mean that. You love the Avatar… I mean Aang more then me. You love him more then you ever loved me." Zuko whispered a few tears trickling down his cheeks as he talked.
"I may love Aang but he's… he could… I mean would have never replaced you. I loved you with all my heart. I thought we had a future." Katara sobbed into his shirt and then he felt bad. Even if he knew she was lying to him and herself.
"This hurts me just as much as it hurts you." Zuko whispered, "I love you and always will. But I knew it wasn't fair to you to keep you for myself when you love someone else who loves you back. Someone who could be better to you then I ever could be. Someone without a temper who does not have a kingdom to rule and more time his girl." Zuko whispered in her ear. He missed whispering happy things that made her smile in her ear when she was sad. He hated himself for saying something that made her cry more.
"Zuko please don't do this. Can't we pretend this never happened I swear I love you more then him! I will never be unfaithful. I'll be better. I'll try to be a better girlfriend! Just don't do this!" Katara cried her body shaking with tears.
"Don't swear things you know aren't true Katara. We cant pretend this never happened. It did. I'm sorry." Zuko whispered pulling her up off the couch and walking her to the door.
"Zuko please. I love you." Katara hugged him sobbing "Don't do this to me. If you still love me. Believe me when I say this! I LOVE YOU!"
"I don't believe you though Katara. I cant. I saw you and Aang. The way he got so close to you and you let him. The way you look at him and the way he looks at you. Go cry to him I'm sure he'll hold you." Zuko sighed pulling her off of him.
"Zuko ok so I love him but I love you to. DON'T DO THIS!"
"I said go cry and whine to him!" Zuko yelled, "The longer you're here the more your breaking my heart!"
"I'm sorry Zuko." Katara darted off crying.
"I love you baby." Zuko whispered closing the door.
