Garnet knew all the risks of being a world re-known female boxer. She knew that having herself set in the spotlight would bring attention to herself and her many flaws. But, she did it anyway. Not for the attention she got, oh definitely no. Garnet was never one to show boast, or stay in the spotlight for much. No, she did for herself. She did it for her deceased parents. And, for the family she was blessed with now. She looked down happily at the baby Steven in her arms. Looking further down, she spotted her toddler, Amethyst, who was clinging to her leg. She shook her head in amusement as she used her superior strength to walk with her kids clinging to her. As she was making her way to the children's room to tuck them in for the night, she felt a slim pair of arms work their way around her waist, and a lithe form press into the back of her body. She didn't need to turn around to know who it was, and she chuckled as she felt a quick peck pressed to her neck.
"Looks like you have quite a bit on your hands here. Maybe I can lend you a hand?" Her wife, Pearl, suggested.
"It'd be appreciated." Garnet replied as she handed Baby Steven to Pearl then reached down to pick up little Amethyst.
She thanked Pearl with a peck on the cheek which promptly caused her wife to blush. They laid Steven in his cradle, and Amethyst in her bed.
"Mum, Momma!" Amethyst said before they left the room. "Storytime, storytime!"
Garnet smiled, and she and Pearl sat down on the edge of Amethyst's bed. They then filled her head with pictures of The Purple Puma and her partner Tiger Millionaire. Once she was deep in slumber, the loving mothers kissed each if their children's foreheads and headed to their own bed.
"So, sweetie, anything new happening with work?" Pearl asked as she got prepared for bed.
"There is something I wished to talk to you about. Concerning work." Garnet said as she stripped into her red and black boxers, and her white tank top.
"And that is?" Pearl called out from in the bathroom.
"I was thinking of coming out to the press." Garnet declared confidently.
No noise could be heard from the bathroom, and Garnet had to really concentrate to hear just Pearl's breathing. Garnet sighed internally because she knew this could happen. Pearl was always self-conscious about herself and her identity. But, Garnet knew that sometimes these things need to just be pulled out from people. Yet, Garnet respected her wife's boundaries, so she wouldn't take any steps without her wife's consent. Finally, a sigh was released from the bathroom, and a mumble came out from it.
"What?" Garnet asked, her eyebrows scrunching up as she tried to figure out what Pearl said.
"Okay..." Her voice a bit louder.
"Yeah? You're okay with this?"
"Hehe, I think I already said 'okay', Garnet." Pearl said as she came out of the bathroom in her light blue, lacy lingerie.
Garnet just smiled as she laid back on their bed, and Pearl crawled on top of her. It was a good night.
A good night, indeed.
Garnet walked up to the stand. Many camera lights flashing off her signature sunglasses. She leaned in, and pulled the mic closer to her.
"I'm gay." Was all that she said before she walked away leaving the questions unanswered.
