It was a love with a burning passion that was full of joy. Perfect and wonderful at the same time and when the confession came both were quite happy. Of course they were, having hoped and prayed for it to come. Though it was not right.
It was looked down upon by society a burning gold that was tainted in so many ways. Tainted…but still pure. So it wasn't right…but so very nice. So very wonderful and then so awful…
It wasn't full of the crap that came with other relationships, the ones that were 'right'. There wasn't the fights like there would have been in another relationship…so it wasn't right?
Missing. There was something missing. His control maybe? The 14th wasn't going to stay in place…it was eating him from the inside out and was going to take away the things he held presious.
So it ended. Quietly…with shaking bodies and quiet sobs and broken hearts. He couldn't forgive himself for what he had done to his best friend. Never forgiven. He gave something the other couldn't keep…
Allen glanced at Kanda with woeful eyes. "Sorry…" That was the word that was whispered.
And Kanda couldn't decide what to do….cut his head off or crash to the floor sobbing. Neither seemed pleasant.
"Why?" choked and high came his voice.
"It's not right…"
"It has to be! It can't be wrong! It's not wrong!"
"It is…and it always will be. Two boys…are you kidding me? It's unnatural, not matter how much you liked it."
"How much I liked it?" his lips were pale and trembling as he stared at the silver-haired boy before him.
"Yes…how much you liked it," guilt washed through him again at the words. Lying was a good idea…though it was wrong. Everything was wrong now.
"Please…" Kanda began but Allen cut him off with a sweep of his hand.
"Friends. I can't offer you more. Friends or nothing…that's what it has to be. You can turn and walk away. I won't stop you."
"How dare you think I'd walk away…"
"I might like it better if you did…"
"…"
"I love you and always will. Now leave….you're sick of me…I can see it in your eyes."
"You must be imagining things," Kanda whispered, tears sliding down his cheeks.
"Please leave," his voice was a plea, so soft and broken that Kanda didn't know what to say. He obeyed, without thinking through the reason Allen wanted to be alone.
"I love you," He whispered. Then his hand was a claw….and was through his chest, taking his heart and his life. The fourteenth would never hurt him…never again. And maybe Kanda might find some way to keep living if he thought Allen didn't want him before he died.
His life drained away and the 14th screamed its last breath... saved. They were all saved. A smile crossed his lips as his eyes closed. "Saved…"
