Fifth...installment? in my FML-based series. This is one of the most recent ones I've written, and I'm not sure if i should write more FML-based ones. Tell me in the reviews if I should go on with these FML-based things.
I'm broke, so I sold all my stuff, and now I own nothing.
Guess who the bus driver is. :
Today, not only did I miss my bus by seconds, I also saw the bus driver smirking as he drove past me in the middle of the Canadian winter. FML
"Maple!" I yelled as I saw the time on the clock: 6:00 AM. That meant I had five minutes to prepare for school and catch the bus in the nick of time. That I did, scrambling to get my winter clothes, being December. If I threw on an ordinary hoodie, I wouldn't even make it halfway through this day, in the very middle of this accursed winter.
"Mattie! Don't forget your lunch money!" My dad worriedly said as I dashed out the front door in record time.
"I didn't, Dad!" I yelled back as I remembered where it was, right there in my pocket.
Running through slippery black ice, I could have joined the Vancouver Olympics as an official representative because of how fast I was going. I nearly tripped thrice, but caught myself just as easily.
Curse that dolt brother of mine, I thought, remembering Alfred's promise to wake me up early this morning. When I woke up frantically this morning, he was nowhere to be seen. My dad said he had already left early.
"Thank God! There it is!" I yelled out loud, spotting the 'Bus Stop' sign, along with the big yellow bus. I knew that bus stopped for no longer than five seconds, so I had practically five seconds to dash to the bus.
I'm going to make it, I thought, smiling as I sprinted through black ice yet again. I'm going to make it, I'm going to make it, I'm going to...make...oh...no.
Three, two, one.
I watched in horror as the yellow bus sped off. As it did, I thought I saw a glimmer of the bus driver-his deeply tan skin, his dreadlocked hair...and his malicious smirk as I was left on the sidewalk, nearly freezing to death, my 'Tardy' slip for school already waiting for me at the Secretary's office. I thought I heard a faint 'That's what you get, you brat Alfred!' and his mad cackle before the bus was completely out of sight.
Oh, Maple...
