Art-ing with the Akatuski

The room was lightly dimmed, the corridor was silent and everything was hushed. It was a regular scene for a secret underground base. A perfect scene for the world's greatest criminals… the Akatuski. But in this particular room was different. The floor was covered in clay, paintbrushes and puppets. Two Akatuski robes hung loosely on the rack at the far corner of the room.

The quiet breathing of the two artists as the worked and the little clangs of the puppets and the soft molding of the clay were the only sounds. The two were completely engulfed in their work.

Sasori of the Red Sand was the puppet master. An evil master mind with an odd fascination, puppets, using people was the core to his puppetry he transformed their bodies into puppets. Taking out musles and bones but keeping their spirit intact, enabling Sasori to use their chakara. At the moment he was placing the finishing touches on one of his prized collector's items the fourth Kazekage.

Across from him sat his partner Deidara, sleeves rolled up to his elbows. Deidara was known for his particular interest in explosives. He was originally from the Village Hidden in the Stone; Deidara's affection grew towards clay. His clay creations were usually bombs that exploded at his will. At the moment he was making a bird out of clay, and yes another explosive one.

Sasori started playing around more than usual with the puppet, trying to move its chakara source, Deidara noticed "Sasori! What are you doing?" He exclaimed confused and concerned.

"I'm just trying to see if I can move the chakara" Sasori answered rolling his eyes at his team mate and continuing with his work.

"But that's… not safe?" Deidara struggled to find the right words, to convince his partner to abandon the task "You've faced so many people but moving chakara is different you would be disturbing the…" Sasori lifted a hand to hush him. Listening intently Sasori heard footsteps outside. There were a lot of them and they were getting closer.

Sasori licked his lips and held his breath, quietly listening. Deidara tried to figure out how many others there were…two…six…no eight…. Or was it seven? Confused both artists looked curiously at the door right as the footsteps halted before it.

Someone eased the door open and it creaked quietly. Deidara and Sasori looked at the scene in surprise, every single one of the Akatuski besides Nagato was standing before them.

Itachi stepped forword "Can we join?" He asked
