Chapter one: A letter from a magic school
Rosalia Amelie Baywater was a perfectly ordinary girl. She lived at Number 11, Grimmald Place. Rosalia's next door neighbors, were Sirius and Regulus Black. She didn't really know Sirius that well, but Rosalia and Regulus had been friends since before they could remember.
This is their story: Rosalia Amelie Baywater was 11 years old. She was sitting outside of her house with her friend Regulus when her mother called Rosalia inside. "Bye, Rosie" called Regulus, and Rosie ran inside.
"Rosie, could you please check the mail?" Rosie looked up to see her mum looking at her. "sure" she said, and ran down the hall. Rosie looked in the mailbox, there was a letter addressed to her father, a rather official letter which Rosie was pretty sure was a water bill, and a very precise letter addressed to Rosie. She gave her father the bill and his letter, before showing him her letter and asking if she could open it. Her dad said yes, and Rosie began to read:
Miss R. Baywater
Upstairs bedroom
11 Grimmald Place
London
The envelope was thick and heavy, made of yellowish parchment, and the address was written in emerald green ink. There was no stamp. On the back of the envelope there was a purple wax seal bearing a coat of arms: a lion, an eagle, a badger and a snake surrounding a large letter 'H'. She opened the letter and read:
HOGWARTS SCHOOL OF WITCHCRAFT AND WIZARDRY Headmaster: Albus Dumbledore (Order of Merlin, First Class, Grand Sorc., Chf. Warlock, Supreme Mugwump, International Confed. of Wizards)
Dear miss Baywater, We are pleased to inform you that you have a place at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Please find enclosed a list of all necessary books and equipment. Term begins on 1 September. We await your owl by no later than 31 July. Yours sincerely,
Minerva McGonagall
Deputy Headmistress
Rosie put the letter away and looked out the window, then she saw something that made her gasp...
Yeah, I know, cliffie. Please review. I don't mind if you say it's bad, but you have to tell me why so I can fix it. And if you like it, tell me! I won't publish another chapter until I get at least one review. So if you want to know what happens, review, review and review! And I almost forgot: read, read and read more.
