Attraction. Simple and plain. It was there, the first time they met. Everyone else saw it.
Eames did. Satio did. Yusuf did. Arthur did. Miles did. Even Mal did!
But he didn't realize it, until he was too late.
He missed her. The way her eyes sparkled as she analyzed him. The way her hair brushed against his cheek when she leaned next to him. The way her cheeks redden when Eames made a dirty joke. The way her hips swung as she walked away.
She had walked away once but she came back. He pushed her away but pulled her closer.
She was different. Not like Mal.
They all went to a bar once and got drunk. She was tipsy and he carried her into his apartment. She giggled and kissed him. He wanted her. Not just her body, but her.
So he untangled himself and tucked her in. She begged him to stay and so he did. Laying next to her in the silence, he heard her breathe in and out.
In that moment he wanted that. Just to hear her breathing next to him. To know that she was beside him. He fell asleep listening to his architect.
When he woke the next morning, he smelled her strawberry shampoo. They had moved closer to each other during the night. She was in his arms facing his chest. Their legs were intertwined.
It was perfect.
When he was around her he felt high. Breathless.
She had an effect on him.
Adriane had found him. She had rescued him out of the maze.
He was forever thankful.
He never told her, but in limbo, she was all he thought about. The reason he left was able to leave limbo, to leave Mal.
She was his girl, she didn't know it.
What he and she had wasn't a simple friendship. It was complex. There was attraction, love, lust, and everything else.
It was complicated, but he wouldn't have it any other way.
She was Adriane and he was Theodosius.
Only he wouldn't leave her stranded.
With her in his life, he knew he was in reality.
So he did what he had to do. He traveled to Paris and brought her back.
His children loved her and they got married a year later.
Seeing his children and her, he smiled and locked his totem up. He didn't need it.
He had all he ever wanted.
His children, his life, his love.
He would always love Mal, but he loved Adriane.
Reality was better than limbo. She would never get lost and neither would he as long as he stayed by her side.
