AN: If you haven't read or watched Donten ni Warau...omg you're missing out! Just watched all 8 episodes on (the series is still updating but I think the Manga is complete) and seriously, I've never cried so much over a character before. I literally sobbed because my heartstrings were ripped apart. Oh, the feels! Anyway, I don't really know what this is. It's just a one shot that I wrote to get Tenka's death out of my head T_T

"Tenka-san!"

The black haired man turned when he heard his name being called. He smiled, knowing exactly whose voice rang in the air.

"Good morning, Mai-chan~ you're quite lively this morning."

"Not as lively as you, Tenka-san," Mai blushed and took a deep breath, "These are for you."

Tenka glanced at the bouquet of flowers resting in Mai's arms,

"How beautiful! Although, I'm not sure if they're as beautiful as you are."

Mai blushed and giggled,

"Tenka-san, you're too kind."

"At least you think that, Mai-chan. Soramaru is so mean to me these days!"

Tenka pouted and Mai patted Tenka's shoulder.

"He's a growing boy. You're going to have to start treating him like an adult sooner or later."

Tenka smiled but his eyes were serious.

"Will you walk with me, Mai-chan?"

"Of course!"

Mai accompanied Tenka as they walked through town. Tenka greeted the townspeople with a cheerful smile and laughed heartily with them. Mai couldn't help but stare at Tenka; he was a perfect man. As if sensing her attention on him, Tenka turned to her and smiled,

"Let's go somewhere more private, Mai-chan."

Mai blushed the whole way to the lake. Tenka's eyes smoldered when he turned to look at her and Mai fidgeted.

"I'm going to die, Mai-chan."

Mai looked up at Tenka with wide eyes. Was this a joke? This joke seemed to be a bit too serious for Tenka's taste, though.

"Tenka-san, you're still young. There's no way you can die yet."

Mai gasped and covered her eyes when Tenka began to loosen his shirt. Mai's face was boiling hot; what was Tenka doing?

"Mai, look."

Tenka gently coaxed Mai's hands from her face and he held them as Mai stared at him in shock. There were patches of dark scales on his torso and neck and Mai could see that more patches were beginning to form.

"Tenka-san...what does this mean?"

"I'm the Orochi's vessel. It's only a matter of time before I die."

"No, that can't be true! Tenka-san-"

Tenka wrapped his arms around Mai and pulled her flush against him in a passionate kiss. Mai tightly gripped Tenka's shirt as she kissed him back. She'd always liked Tenka but she never imagined that her feelings for him would be in vain. Tenka pulled away slightly and pressed his forehead against Mai's; she was crying.

"Do you regret knowing me, Mai-chan?"

Tenka wiped away Mai's tears and she leaned into his touch when he cupped her cheek.

"I don't regret anything, Tenka-san. I'll always love only you."

Tenka pressed another kiss to Mai's lips,

"Let's meet again in our next life, Mai-chan."

Mai watched helplessly as Tenka walked away and she collapsed onto her knees, sobbing uncontrollably as Tenka disappeared.
