There was once a story in Fairytale Land, a story of a painting that had come from another world. This world didn't have magic per say, but the painting was known to come alive at times. It was a painting of a young girl with long beautiful wavy blonde hair, big green eyes, small cute lips, and about the age of a 12 year old. There was also a man, known to everyone across Fairytale Land, known as Rumpelstiltskin. He had heard of this painting of a young girl and he wanted to see it for he often found himself attracted to things that had to do with other worlds. He searched for the painting, and with his power it was not too hard to find. He arrived at the place where it was, having arrived at an abandoned castle. Well, not a castle per say, but something close to it. It was a bit small for a castle and Rumpelstiltskin found it a bit amusing. He found the painting of the young girl and he thought she was a beautiful girl, though a bit too young for his liking. The girl sensed the man and she appeared out of the painting, she looked at the man. Rumpelstiltskin thought the girl might be frightened of him but she simply asked him,
"Who are you?".
Rumpelstiltskin grinned broadly and waved his arm with a flourish as he bowed.
"Why, I am so glad you asked deary , for I am Rumpelstiltskin."
The girl frowned, not knowing who this Rumpelstiltskin is and she looked at his strange reptile like skin and his tight leather pants. She thought he was funny looking, but she kept that to herself. She didn't particularly like adults though.
"I'm Mary. What do you want?"
She asks, a bit rudely though she thought she made it up at least by giving him her name. Rumpelstiltskin laughed a little.
"It's not about what I want deary, it's about what you want. I can give you anything you wish, for a price."
He says, letting out his little titter as he claps his hands together in delight at the idea of what this girl might want.
"Anything I want huh? Can you make me human? Free me from this painting?"
She asks, her big blue eyes aglow with the idea. Rumpelstiltskin grins.
"Why of course, but for a price."
He says once more.
"I heard you, what is my price?"
She asks, putting her hands on her hips. Rumpelstiltskin didn't like her attitude very much, but he tolerates it for the time being.
"You will know your price when you turn twenty, in human years. You are twelve now in human years, so I will be back in eight years deary."
He says, grinning. Mary looks wide eyed.
"What? But I want to know what it is!"
She says indignantly. Rumpelstiltskin wags his finger at her and tsks.
"Ah, ah, ah, no deary. I'm going to give you your wish and you will see me again in eight years when I come to collect the price."
He says, and waves his hand. The fram and canvas disappear behind Mary and she becomes human. Rumpelstiltskin then dissappears from sight with a wave of his arm. Mary looks down at herself and then realizes something.
"But...how am I supposed to live?! Rumpelstiltskin!"
She cries, but gets no answer. She sighs, looking around and starts a long journey to find a town and a family.
