"I don't trust him." Piccolo didn't have to mention any names, they all knew he was talking about Vegeta, the Prince of All Saiyans. (Meaning himself, Goku, Gohan and Trunks.)

"You're right." Tien said. "He's nothing but a monster."

"Now you two. Give the man a chance." Of course Goku would trust Vegeta. Heck, he seemed to be able to see good in almost everybody. Freezer and Cell both notable exceptions.

"Come on. Not like you were and angel at first Piccolo. You were the devil. Still, you changed, even giving your life for Gohan. Because he's like the son you never had. How much more don't you think Vegeta cares for Trunks? His own son?"

"Not much." Piccolo wasn't convinced.

"He may not show it but I'm sure he cares about Trunks and Bulma. It's just his time under Freezer taught him never to show his emotions. He told me, back when he was dying on Namek; Freezer made him the cold-hearted killer. He didn't want to be."

"YOU'RE MAD GOKU! Do you really trust him?"

"Yes Tien. I do. You weren't too good when we first met either. But you changed. You realized the path of an assassin was the wrong path.

Come to think of it. Most of my friends started out as more or less foes. But you became my friends. And here we are; united against a foe, fighting to protect the Earth. But we won't really be a team before we learn to trust each other. That's what teamwork is about. Trusting."

He was right. Of course. They would face Cell together. And, somehow or the other, they would defeat him. Whatever the cost.
