Prologue
Winter is coming. The farmer knew that. He also knew that a war was in the horizon. He crouched on the dirt outside his house ( a place in the Riverlands.) He pushed his shovel into the ground and heard a strange sound from beneath. His shovel had struck something buried in the hard ground. He began to dig faster and uncovered a metal object. The colour was the green of the ocean before a storm. It seemed to have been buried a very long time. Amazed he man said to himself; What is this.? It was as he looked into the hole again and saw something else hidden below the first.! He picked up the strange thing and studied it. It was a Plate! The man saw it had writing of some kind on it. The man wrapped the plate carefully. Maybe his Lords would be interested in it.?
