It was just like any other day, I was on my way to work on seventh street in Cardiff.
I am originally from America, born and raised in New York. I work for Ann Taylor interior decorating, but one of their bases is in Cardiff, Whales, so I jumped at the opportunity to travel. I left my family, friends and home life to come to Cardiff. Besides the annoying accents, I love it here. As I drove my car turning onto Maple Ave. just two blocks away from work, I heard the explosion. I freaked out, I mean in New York when 9/11 happened it was terrifying and this sounded exactly the same. I looked around the road at the other cars but everyone else resumed like nothing had happened. Did this happen normally in Cardiff? Traffic was jammed anyway so I hopped outta my BMW and knocked onto the car window next to mine. "Hello sir, sorry to disturb you, but I was just curious to know, did you hear that massive explosion about thirty seconds ago?" "Uhhh...mam I think your bloody insane please get away from my car." the jerk whelsman said. "So I guess I'm crazy" I thought as I opened the door to my car. Next thing I know I hear sirens and sounds of fire trucks going right past me. Only when I look around no surprise, everyone looks perfectly unaware. Also, I see no fire, no explosion, nothing. "What the hell?" I quietly whisper to myself as I ponder over thee sounds. "Is it the radio?, my cell?, possibly my mp3 player's on?" I thought as I checked every one of these things and none of them was the solution. As I got onto Cedar St., my work's street, I had to find out what was going on so I turned around and drove towards the hospital, I parked my car and walked into the main doors. "Hello miss. My name's Roxanne Smith and I was on my way to work this morning when I heard a massive explosion around 7:30 a.m. and a few minutes later, followed by ambulances and fire trucks. did something happen?" I frantically asked. The lady at the desk looked at me confused, (my usual look I've been getting) and said, "Ms. Smith I can assure you nothing has happened this morning of that nature. However, we do have a doctor here we can let you talk to ." I was beginning to get really annoyed at responses like that today. "No thanks, never-mind, I guess I'm just going insane. Sorry for taking you're time." I rushed outta there, into my car and drove to work with a clear mind never to mention those noises to anyone.
