He thought that this would be the last time he would have to endure all this pain. She thought her head might explode. He could not bear to do this again. She vowed that this was the last time.

"Crucio!" the Dark Lord shouted again, causing Draco to go ridged. "I told you to kill the mud-blood!"

"I-I'm sorry My Lord, I-I tried. She is to powerful," Draco said regaining his posture.

"You were defeated by a mud-blood girl?" his aunt Bellatrix shrieked.

"I am sorry, she is strong and powerful. And she is friends with Potter and the bloodtraitor Weasley," Draco said, worried.

"Don't let it happen again!" the Dark Lord said as he apparated. Narcissa pulled Draco back to his feet and fussed over him. Draco looked down at his shoes, I can't kill her, I love her.

"Hermione!" Ron yelled in her ear.

"What is it, Ron?" Hermione asked angrily.

"You aren't finished with your potion. Class is over," Ron said, shrugging. Hermione's eyes opened wide. Must finish, must finish, must finis-

"Miss Granger, your potion," Professor Snape said.

"But-but I'm not finished."

"Your time is over, Miss Granger."

"Okay, Professor Snape," Hermione said regretfully. This is the last time I let my feelings get in the way of my work!

Her smile filled his dream that night. His eyes closed as their lips touched in hers. But they knew that this would just be their dreams.

"You may kiss the bride," the preacher said. Hermione kissed her second choice. A hundred miles and eleven months away a preacher said the same to Draco and his bride.

He would never wake up to the smile of his dreams, and she would never go to bed with the man that she loved. But their hearts would always have a similar pain. One that could make them dream.
