Behind the Veil
A/N: This is just a short one-shot about what happens when witches and wizards pass through the Veil.
Disclaimer: It's not mine. sigh Any of it.
It's not so bad here, behind the Veil. It's actually rather enjoyable. I'd like to tell you exactly what it's like, but I don't think you'd understand. Muggles call it heaven. Wizards don't know what to call it. Some have chosen not to join us. They walk through the world, clinging to past lives. But those of us who entered the Veil have realized that it is indeed a great adventure.
The only sadness here is for those we have left behind. For those of us who are in the Order, or rather, were in the Order, it's difficult to forgive ourselves for failing to stop Voldemort. Voldemort is one of those who will never join us behind the Veil. He will never be permitted to become a ghost, either. He will be doomed to the other place, the place which no one likes to mention.
The Potters are here. Lily in James are as much in love as ever. It's a bit sickening really. For us, being here is pretty much like being back at Hogwarts.
Oy, Sirius, watcha writin'?
Get off it Prongs! I'm trying to-
Aww, Paddy's writing a story! How touching!
That's it James! Now I'm definitely not putting you in my story.
Sure you will.
How do you know?
What kind of a story would it be without me?!
He has a point.
Oh, Sirius! You're writing a story! Jamesie wasn't lying!
Lily, for the sake of all that is holy, don't call him 'Jamesie'!
Can I read your story?
NO!
Fine. I really regret befriending you...letting James talk me into letting you be the best man...naming you Harry's godfather.
No you don't! You love me! Now let me write my story!
Fine
Wait a minute-you didn't want me to be the best man?
Just get in with the story already!
See what I mean? The Veil isn't really the end of anything. We're still the same people we were. Well, my hair does look better. And I think my muscles are more defined.
And you've developed a bit of an effeminate walk.
James! I know! Why don't you go snog Lily!
Okay!
I swear it's like we're teenagers again. But then, that's when we were happiest. Like I said, the Veil isn't the end of anything-it's the start (the restart) of the happiest days of our lives.
End.
A/N: If you'd be so kind as to review, I will be eternally grateful!
