It was raining that night. The smell of the sewers wafted the air in downtown Star City. There was barely any light, almost all the lamp posts had broken bulbs. And walking drunkenly down the sidewalk was a very high and very depressed Roy Harper holding a bottle of beer in his hand.

Roy moaned. "I hate my life. I hate everything. I hate being a sidekick. I hate them." He would repeat to himself as he kept drinking.

This was how Roy was for the past two weeks, walking drunk down the dark alleys and streets of Central City. This was how Roy was ever since Green Arrow decided to give him the boot. And really, Roy wanted to go. He couldn't stand just being referred to as Speedy, Green Arrow's sidekick. He never even really understood why he was called Speedy. He was an archer, not some Flash protégé.

Roy raised the bottle of beer in his hand to realize that it was empty. He threw it against the sidewalk in his drunken haze. The glass shards flew all over the sidewalk.

"Fuck. Now what?" Roy stumbled towards a wall and reached towards his pocket for some money. There was none.

A voice rose out of the shadows. "Now what indeed?" A voice came out from a dark alley.

"Who's there?" Roy slurred. Being high, he was barely conscious of anything he was doing. All that came rushing through his head was that there was creepy man.

"Why hello Roy. Nice to see you on this fine evening." The tall man came into the light of one of only remaining lamp posts.

"Lex Luthor." Roy realized somewhere in his hazed mind.

"Yes, Roy. And I'm here to help you."

I haven't posted a story or chapter in so long~! So I decided to make a short story about Red Arrow because I LOVE Young Justice. This will probably be a 5-10 chapter story. This is mostly a prologue though.

This is a "Please forgive me" chapter for my friends who are like constantly badgering me to update. I will try to update more now. I've just started freshman year in high school, so I'll see how well that goes for me.
