"Did none of you come to save me just because you missed me?"

Of course like all of his comments the words were delivered with an almost flippant manner accompanied by a series of greatly hyperbolised hand gestures and drunken swagger though the rum had long been gone.

Of course a few raised their hands somewhat ironically a few members of his mutinous crew. He would like to believe they had honestly missed him but even they had ulterior motives. He couldn't really blame them for that could he? He was just the same wasn't he? He used people to give himself the up most advantage with no apologies or regrets.

"Take what you can! Give nothing back!"

A pirate's life is not easy. All relationships are severed the person that really matters is you. The reward is great…freedom, freedom to go wherever you want. Although the truth was a lot more complicated and dismal…which is why to many lying or deceiving can sometimes seem to be almost kinder.

Pirates were not as free as they perhaps once were. The world was becoming more compact and the new age was working towards order and consensus wiping out pirates. Every move they made was controlled by a need to survive and to avoid the hangman's noose.

Freedom was what Pirates claimed to have but is really the thing they spend their whole lives searching for. Perhaps true freedom only exists in death…

The lies and deception went further still. Will had an unbreakable bond with Elizabeth and Pintel and Ragetti had a strong bond that perhaps it was best not venture too much into.

Sparrows by their very nature do not mate for life or settle down they are drifters…a rather discomforting question continues to arouse is that by choice or rather by circumstance?

It had become part of his life he had learned to accept and embrace. He learned to accept he had to make his own fortune and protect it. No one else was going to do it for him…

Can a man truly live alone or can he merely exist?

"You forgot one very important thing mate…I'm Captain Jack Sparrow…"
