It Was You

Disclaimer: I don't own Final Fantasy VII, people. If I did, it'd be A LOT different. Like there'd be no hidden characters, easier bosses, and no deaths of allies! Oh, and... continues babling for a good portion of the day

Vincent: . ...To save your own sanity, you might want to just read this now and GO.

Now, before I lose y'all, this thing was, in fact, inspired by Track No. 3 on the Pokemon: The First Movie soundtrack, 'It Was You'. If you don't know it, look up the lyrics or download the song from KaZaa or LimeWire. Or some other downloading thingy. Either way, it was a good song, so I just started writing.

Author's Notes: This came out a lot shorter than It was supposed to be. 0o Y'know, these fictions take up more paper than they do typing space. Oh well, a one-shot is a one-shot. Enjoy!

"AHHH!"

Yuffie's screams echoed throughout the forest as she ran, ignoring the pain in her body and the tears in her eyes. Her orange sneakers slid in the muddy ground and soon caught in a particularly gnarled tree root, and she went down to the cold, damp soil with a splat. A new injury to add to her list - a sprained ankle to go with all those other bumps and bruises.

Stunned, she had enoguh sense to curl up in a fetal position. If she couldn't run, she could try a primitive defense at the least.

Thud. Thud. Thud.

Whimpering as the heavy steps of the Behemoth drew closer, she prayed silently for either a miracle or for everything to at least end quickly.

Sickening rips and tremendous roars filled the air as the poor trees were ripped out of the ground by the agitated creature. She had only wanted some of the materia it kept... Was that so wrong!

Oh gawd, hurry it up! Yuffie thought miserably. A giant shadow fell over er, and even with her eyes squeezed shut, its fetid breath alerted her to the new company.

When the Behemoth reared up to stomp on and finish her, BANG.

A weak roar escaped the creature's mouth, and the now-dead creature continued with its arc, falling backwards and to the grund with a trmendous, earth-shattering CRASH.

Hurried footsteps got her attention as they stopped next to her huddled form and she felt a cold hands prop her up against something warm and soft, one hard and cold compared to the other.

The worried person above her finally spoke. "Yuffie? Hyne, let her be all right..."

Her heart fluttered as she lay against him, that familiar deep voice making her heart flip. Vinnie... It was you, then... Just knowing that he was the one that saved her was enough to make her smile.

When she opened her eyes she was greeted by the sight of a worried Vincent, holding her securely.

Seeing she was awake, Vincent chuckled. "So you're all right, then?" Tae worry was washed from his face as if he never was.

"Yeah, Vinnie... I'm okay," Yuffie replied weakly, sitting up and immediately tipping over. "Whoo... Except for that, anway..." She didn't realize that she fell right against his chest and into his arms.

"It's all right. Let's get you back to Tifa's..." He helped her stand up and offered himself as suppot for the walk home. Heck, he'd even carry her if it was needed.

"Thanks, Vinnie," she said, leaning heavily against his arm as they walked. "You're my miracle..." she sighed a few minutes later as she slumped in a doze against him.

Vincent hid the smile her words left as he hefted her small form into his arms, letting her curl up against him and hug his neck. "...And you're mine, Yuffie..." he whispered to the sleeping ninja, feeling slightly relieved that she never heard those words and hopefully never would.

MORE Author's Notes: TA-DA! It was bad, and crappy, and it probably doesn't belong on paper, but it's written. So no matter if you loved it, loathed it, or found it downright disgusting, TOO BAD! xDD It's up here, and it ain't goin' down anytime soon, so NYEH!
